Vaccines & Boosters

University Requirements

As of May 11, 2023, 51²è¹Ý recommends but does not require students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors who come to campus to be vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.Ìý

Where to find vaccines and/or boosters

Walgreens at 3301 New Mexico Avenue NW has agreed to provide 51²è¹Ý community members (faculty, staff, and students) the opportunity to receive the Pfizer vaccine booster.

On Sunday, October 15 and Sunday, October 22, Walgreens will provide booster shots for 51²è¹Ý community members only from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. No appointment is needed, you may walk in and receive the booster. Please bring with you:

  • Government issued ID
  • Health insurance card
  • Original COVID vaccination cardÌý(if available)
  • Completed for Walgreens

In addition to the Walgreens opportunity, both flu and COVID-19 shots are also available by appointment at being held in partnership with Safeway pharmacy. Moderna vaccine boosters will be available for those who have made appointments starting with the clinic on Wednesday, October 4. for the clinics on October 17, 23, 25 and 27Ìýin the Butler Board Room, 6th floor, in Butler Pavilion to receive the Moderna vaccine. Registration is required and please bring your health insurance card and ID with you to your appointment.

Vaccines are readily avaialble near campus. Here's where to go and how to search for sites:

  • Vaccinations and booster shots are readily available near campus, including pharmacies and grocery stores.
  • Go to the CDC’sÌý, which includes search boxes for state health departments and theÌý; or,
  • Go to theÌý, which will direct you to relevant locations in your vicinity; or,
  • Go to your jurisdiction’s website for Covid-19 vaccination (by searching on your jurisdiction’s name and CovidÌývaccination) to see options; or,
  • Ask your personal health provider. Some doctors’ offices offer pre-registration at clinics, or if not, can advise you on services in your area.

Vaccine distribution is managed by federal and state agencies.
