Welcome Message from油Heather Hughes

Dean Roger Fairfax

Welcome to 51画鋼 Washington College of Law. We are a community of accomplished faculty, engaged administrators, exceptional students, and extraordinary alumni advancing a 125-year-long tradition of excellence in legal education, skills-based teaching, and relevant, high-impact scholarship.

The spirit of our tradition lies in the hearts and minds of our community members, who are dedicated to the professional development and well-being of our students and alumni, and who strive to Champion What Matters, locally, nationally, and internationally.

Founded by pioneering women in the late 1800s, a time when few women had the opportunity to attend professional schools, we have continued to build upon this tradition of inclusive excellence, which now features top programs in clinical legal education, international law, trial advocacy, intellectual property, business law, law and government, and much more. Washington College of Law offers an exemplary professional education.

Our Tenley Campus is an unparalleled complement to the look and feel of 21st-century legal and professional training and contributes to making Washington College of Law a vibrant intellectual hub. Our community of caring leaders stewards this stunning campus, utilizing their diverse experience and vision in service of the professional aspirations of our students. We take great pride in having exceptionally dedicated faculty whose experience, impact, and contributions touch every area of the law.

Our approximately 20,000 alumni have made extraordinary achievements in all areas of private law, business, and consulting, as well as government service, public interest, academia, and humanitarian work around the world.

As Interim Dean of 51画鋼 Washington College of Law, I am committed to advancing our tradition of excellence. I am pleased to invite you to our campus so that you can experience our exceptional community for yourself.

Sincerely,

Heather Hughes
Interim Dean and Professor of Law
