Applying to CJC
The Criminal Justice Clinic is open to J.D. candidates who will be 2Ls or 3Ls in the fall of any given academic year. Students participating in CJC during the third year of law school must have completed Criminal Procedure and Evidence before the Fall semester of the third year. Students participating in CJC during the second year of law school must have completed Criminal Procedure and Evidence before or during their Clinic semester.
CJC offers Defense clinics in the fall and spring semesters.
All Defense students (fall and spring) must attend a mandatory orientation session on the first Friday of fall classes.
CJC offers a Prosecution clinic in the fall and spring semesters.
Students in the Prosecution Clinic will take a 3-credit seminar at WCL and be assigned field placements with Maryland State's Attorneys offices in Montgomery, Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties. Students will receive their field placements in early August, before the start of fall classes.
