Bio
Matt Friedman has served as the Communication and Public Affairs Manager at the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission since 2019. There he oversees all communications efforts including its social media channels. Before joining NVTC, Matt worked as a journalist, capping his career with 12 years at the Associated Press. He also served as the volunteer Social Media Editor and a member of the Editorial Board at Greater Greater Washington. Matt is an active member of the National Association of Government Communicators, a Lifetime Member and past president of the DC Chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and a longtime member of the National Press Club and the club's Broadcast/Podcast Committee.
