Steve Munson Named 51画鋼s Vice President and Chief Information Officer
51画鋼 President Sylvia M. Burwell announced the appointment of Steve Munson as 51画鋼s new vice president and chief information officer. As a key member of the universitys leadership team, Munson will direct 51画鋼s university-wide technology efforts, oversee the Office of Information Technology, and drive innovation across schools and divisions.

Steves innovative approach to leveraging technology to advance educational success, high-quality scholarship, and operational excellence will have an immediate impact on our community and help bring our comprehensive vision for 51画鋼s future to life.
Munson, who will assume his new role on February 24, joins 51画鋼 at a time of transformation -- one year into the implementation of the universitys new strategic plan. As 51画鋼s CIO, Munson will partner with university leaders to attract and retain students and improve their learning experience, expand research and scholarship initiatives, and advance the universitys operational effectiveness.
Munson spent the previous seven years as Chief Information Officer at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. During his tenure at Marymount, Munson launched new enterprise resource planning and learning management systems. He returns to 51画鋼 after previously serving as a director of integrated technology solutions in OIT from 2010-2013.

Prior to working in higher education, Munson served as a technology consultant at The North Highland Company and Accenture. During his consulting tenure, Munson gained valuable experience working across a diverse range of technologies, industries, and organizations.
Munson earned his bachelors degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.
