Bio
Dr. Cerezo is Associate professor of applied linguistics and Director of the Spanish language program at 51画鋼. He has been a consultant for institutions like the Fulbright Commission and Berlitz. He holds a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting (University of M叩laga, National Valedictorian by the Spanish Ministry of Education) and three masters degrees, in Machine Translation (University of Manchester), Computational Linguistics (Georgetown University), and Spanish Applied Linguistics (Georgetown University). His doctoral dissertation in Spanish applied linguistics (Georgetown University) received the Harold N. Glassman Dissertation Award in the social sciences category. Dr. Cerezo has presented his research on language learning technologies (video games, simulations, and hybrid and online curricula) and the pedagogy of translation and interpreting at leading international conferences (e.g., AAAL, CALICO, CALL, SLRF, TBLT), including as a keynote speaker for the Spanish Royal Academy. His works have been published in leading scholarly journals like Computer Assisted Language Learning, Language Learning & Technology, and Studies in Second Language Acquisition, as well as edited volumes in Cambridge University Press, John Benjamins, and Routledge. He is currently a member of the editorial advisory board of the CALICO Journal.
